Dr. Kwee is a Registered Psychologist in British Columbia (# 1903) who is also licensed in the State of Washington, USA. He holds registrations with both the Canadian Register of Health Service Psychologists and the National (USA) Register of Health Service Psychologists. Since moving to BC in 2009 to teach at Trinity Western University (where he is a core faculty member in the Counselling Psychology Department), Dr. Kwee has developed a busy private practice centered on psychoeducational testing and psychotherapy.
Dr. Kwee completed his undergraduate studies, graduating summa cum laude, at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He worked in corporate America for a few years before obtaining his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from the Wheaton College Graduate School from Wheaton, Illinois, in 2006. He has been conducting psychoeducational evaluations from his very first practicum placement in the child and adolescent unit of a county health department, where he first developed an interest in the identification of specific learning disabilities as well as giftedness. He consolidated his skills as a trainee in a university counselling centre and has made psychoeducational testing a focus of his work since entering independent practice in 2008.
Dr. Kwee has worked with a broad spectrum of students from various school districts in the lower mainland, universities, the Christian homeschooling community, as well as youth involved with the Ministry of Children and Family Development. As an educational psychologist, he derives particular fulfillment from helping students of all ages to maximize their academic potential and joy of learning.
